Privacy Policy
Modbook is a car build and maintenance tracker. This policy explains, in plain terms, what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: your data stays yours.
Modbook has no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs that gather information about you. The developer cannot see your cars, mods, service records, photos, or usage.
Where your data lives
- On your device. Everything you enter — cars, mods, service history, performance runs, and photos — is stored locally on your iPhone.
- In your own iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, Modbook syncs your data to your private iCloud database so it stays consistent across your devices. This container belongs to your Apple Account. The developer has no access to it and cannot read its contents.
Photos
Photos you add to a car or a mod are stored alongside your other Modbook data (on device and in your private iCloud). They are optimized on import to save space. They are never uploaded to the developer or any third party.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or a login.
- We don't ask for your name, email, or contacts.
- We don't track you across apps or websites.
- We don't sell or share your data — because we never receive it.
Apple services
Sync is provided by Apple's iCloud/CloudKit. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. If you turn off iCloud for Modbook, your data simply stays on your device.
Deleting your data
You can delete any item in the app at any time. Deleting Modbook from your device removes its local data; to remove synced data, sign in to iCloud and delete Modbook's data from iCloud settings.
Children
Modbook is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
